Background
The 4 billion dollar electronic design automation (EDA) industry is the driving force behind the 150 billion USD semiconductor industry. Without innovative and cutting-edge solutions from the EDA industry, it would be impossible to design the high density and high performance chips we see today. It is a solid and mature industry, known for its technological innovations.

The EDA Consortium tracks several categories of EDA tools. CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) is the biggest revenue generating category in EDA. This category consistently generates over 450 million USD per quarter. Examples of tools in this category include synthesis/simulation tools, analysis tools, verification tools (formal and functional) and design-for-test tools. VeriEZ's main focus is verification, one of the highest growth areas in CAE. Verification tools generate approximately 40 million USD every quarter and this category has consistently demonstrated double-digit growth.

It is very difficult, if not impossible, to verify present day high density and complex ICs using traditional verification techniques. It is well-known that up to 70% of a design team's resources are spent on verification. Today's engineers are required to build high-performance next-generation designs on very aggressive time-to-market schedules. Verification of such complex systems poses a tremendous challenge to both the designer and the vendor who provides solutions to verify such systems. There is a clear need for tools and technologies to improve and enhance the verification process. VeriEZ was founded to address this need.

VeriEZ was founded to address the verification challenge. We are building products and solutions that will cut down the time spent on verification. Companies will see immediate benefits from using VeriEZ products and solutions. Our products combine new verification technologies with existing and evolving design and verification flows. All our products integrate very easily into customer environments.

VeriEZ is the developer of EZVerify, the industry's first OpenVera®/SystemVerilog® Productivity ToolSuite. EZVerify is a high-performance verification productivity tool suite for HVL-based design and verification teams. To enable efficient verification, EZVerify uses a three-pronged attack -

• identifies verification coding errors early in the flow, giving beginner and experienced users alike the opportunity to fix such errors
• allows users to build functional coverage models efficiently
• and provides a comprehensive document of verification information by analyzing the input modules (new, legacy or external verification IP).

EZVerify consists of two components –
EZCheck - Static Lint Checker for HVL-based modules
EZReport - Verification Knowledge Extractor for HVL modules.

VeriEZ's other product is EZTranslate, an OpenVera-to-SystemVerilog Migration Tool Suite.

People
VeriEZ was founded in early 2002 by Sashi Obilisetty. Ms. Obilisetty previously founded DualSoft LLC (Nashua, NH), a developer of Verilog/VHDL design and verification products. DualSoft was acquired by TransEDA PLC in December 2000 and became the New England Development Center (NEDC) for TransEDA. Ms. Obilisetty was the Vice President and General Manager of NEDC till December 2001, where she was instrumental in establishing the center, doubling R&D staff and leading the development of key TransEDA products. Prior to founding DualSoft, Ms. Obilisetty was consulting for Boston-area EDA companies. Ms. Obilisetty has 10+ years of EDA experience in synthesis, simulation, test and Verilog/VHDL-based products. She holds a B.E in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, India and an M.S in Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
